Christians are called to be TRANSFORMED not conformed...
“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. That you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is — his good, pleasing and perfect will.” ~Romans 12:2
We are not called to simply “fit in.” God’s will for us is to abandon what the world considers wisdom and even become counter cultural. In scripture, God is referred to as the “Great I Am.” Today’s culture has replaced the Great I Am with “I Am Great” — creating god in their own image. Selfish pride and the lusts of the flesh have taken primary position in modern lives. The Godly wisdom of becoming transformed into something wholly different than what the world finds acceptable is abhorrent to modern ears. Unfortunately, that mindset is true even within a growing number liberal Churches. These progressive “believers” reject the traditional notions regarding transformation, chastity and temperance. For them, putting aside the lusts of the flesh and pride of life are merely foolish, outdated, and even hateful ideologies.
Of course the choice is yours my friends — transformation, or conformation. I made my choice decades ago to do something foolish. I decided to pick pick up my cross and follow Jesus. The path I’ve been on hasn’t always been easy. I haven’t always made the best choices along the way. However, keeping my focus on the goal of eternity with Christ, I’ve been gently guided to a better path. Rather than confirming to politically correct ideologies, I’ve been transformed into something better — a blood bought child of God, continually seeking to do the will of the Father.
My sisters and brothers, it is out of the love for our Lord, that I rise each day, contemplate the sacred mysteries, and pray that each of you become transformed yourselves.
Seek an Authentic Faith my friends, one that seeks transformation, not one that demands conformation to wisdom tainted by liberal and PC world-views.
