Michael was ordained a priest in 1999 by the late Archbishop Jurgen Bless of the Inter-American Old Catholic Church, in Huntington Beach, California. He served as Rector of that cathedral parish for two years, where he bet Bishop Juan Baladad (pictured below.. From Huntington beach, Michael has served in many locations across the country.

Years later, in 2015, Michael reconnected with now, Archbishop Baladad, who's health was failing. Fr. Callahan was consecrated to the episcopate in December of 2016 and appointed "Co-Adjuator and successor. Upon the death of ++Baladad in May of that year, ++Michael assumed the role of Archbishop for what was then known as the Catholic Church in America.

++Michael has been married for over thirty years, has three children and ten grandchildren. The Callahan's will be moving to Avondale, Arizona, in February of 2021, where they will begin the process of forming a new faith community. We will be starting out with home bible studies, and home-Mass.

Though St. Nicholas is primarily a "Catholic" faith-based community, ALL are truly baptized welcome. Christians of every background who recognize that God is in our midst are welcome to participate in our liturgical, and eucharistic celebrations.
